Part lawman, part tracker and part magician, the Wardens are monster-hunters - tasked with protecting the people from the various, nightmarish creatures that have invaded the world of men.

For most of his life, 16-year-old Errol Magnus categorically rejected the idea of being a Warden. Growing up right next to the Badlands, he encountered enough bloodthirsty monsters in the ordinary course of events; he’d never seen much sense in assuming a post that required you to actively seek them out.

Recently, however, while competently and capably serving as Warden on behalf of his missing brother Tom, Errol’s had a change of heart. Now, for reasons of his own, he desperately wants the position. Unfortunately, being officially appointed Warden not only requires that Errol’s skills be tested by his peers, but that he also make a perilous journey to the city of Apolos in order to be examined by the High Warden himself.

Traveling with a group of colleagues, Errol thinks all danger is behind them once they reach the safety of the city. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Something has followed them out of the Badlands, and - one by one - his traveling companions are being viciously slain by something…inhuman. It’s up to Errol to find the creature and bring its killing spree to a halt, before he himself winds up the next victim.

Warden Book 3 Attack of the Aswang eBook Kevin Hardman

I really enjoyed these three books, and am looking forward to the next one. I blew thru all three pretty much one after the other and found the characters delightfully full-fleshed. They are real people, and their various interactions are quite entertaining.

The plot moves right along, and has some interesting tidbits. My only complaint is the occasional proof-reading flub, but nothing I could not live with.

Not a lot of blood and gore, and no explicit sexual activity, which is my preference. Give yourself a treat and read this series!

Warden Book 3 Attack of the Aswang eBook Kevin Hardman Reviews

I absolutely adore this series and can't wait until the next book comes out. This is a must read for all my fantasy lovers out there, it's well written and leaves you wanting to read more.
This series is one of those I couldn't put down. My only complaint is the books were too short. I want more!!
I have really enjoyed this series. I am impressed by the author's imagination and style. Totally awesome! I want more!
I love this genre and I think this series is one of the better ones out there.
While short this story does not lack in action and adventure. Well worth its price I recommend this story to those who want to read the continuing takes off the Wendigo Warden. Only complaint is the sort length of the novel but it's something I've come to expect from the author. While disappointing means new novels on a faster schedule so I won't let its size sway my opinion of the book. The story definitely picks up again and seems to set the stage for the conclusion of this arc. Whether the story will continue after the next book or two I sincerely hope not. If his novels sort length is my greatest complaint against him his world building and storylines are my favorite feature of Kevin Hardman.
This latest book has even more going on than the last one, and provides even more story as a result. Well worth reading! I’d really like to see more stories in this series! Definitely recommended.
I like this series and I think it is getting better as it goes.
However, this book was the first so far in the series in which the main character didn't have any internal conflict. Basically all the conflict related to the character comes from other people and he feels like their judgement is unnecessary and just something he needs to work through to show everybody how wrong they are. And he is right. when it comes down to it, he is the best and everyone should have just realized it sooner. The end. I'm not really a fan of that.

spoilers beyond here so I'll just pause to say that this book was worth it and you should try it out.

My biggest disappointment came from the character of Prap, the douchey warden. I like flawed characters, especially if they redeem themselves somehow, and I don't really feel like Prap got the right kind of death. See, Prap dies because he kills and eats a pig. If you believe that eating meat is ok, then he was pretty much justified in his actions. He showed himself to be mean spirited in many other ways, why have him die for one of his few justified actions?
I would have preferred that he lived and gained a respect for his fellow wardens and showed that, while he was a bad tracker and had low self esteem, he had his good points to. His death was disappointing and I'm kind of mad at the main character for letting it happen just so that a monster could get revenge for a crime Prap didn't know he committed.
